Privacy Policy
The Competition Law Association and its parent body, the
LIDC, operate a privacy policy for the personal data collected from
members in accordance with relevant Data Protection legislation. The CLA at the above address is a
“data controller” for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998. Your data are made available to
other members of the CLA, as well as to the Law Society and the Bar
Council for continuing professional development purposes. They are also made available to
the LIDC, to which the CLA is affiliated, for use principally so that you
may receive information about LIDC affairs, including invitations to
international meetings. This information is also made available to other
members of the LIDC and bodies affiliated to the LIDC. The LIDC publishes
a website containing, apart from general information on the LIDC, personal
data of its members, access to which is restricted to members of the
LIDC. Your personal data are
not otherwise passed by the CLA or the LIDC to third parties without your
consent. However, in the
administration of the Association’s and the LIDC’s affairs, the data are
stored and processed to enable us and the LIDC to communicate with you on
CLA or LIDC business.
From time to time, we or the LIDC may also want to send you
items from third parties which may be of interest to you. Any action taken by members in
response to such items received from third parties is solely a matter for
the member concerned. We will endeavour to send you these mailings
electronically rather than by post, where
possible.
