Competition Law Association

Welcome to the website of The Competition Law Association. We are the British Group of the International League of Competition Law (Ligue Internationale du Droit de la Concurrence - LIDC). We promote the study and discussion of the law and commercial practices affecting competition, both nationally and internationally.

The CLA runs a series of lunch time and evening meetings, principally in London, with distinguished speakers in the field of competition law and intellectual property law. Recent topics have included e-commerce and geo-blocking, taking into account both the competition and IP law perspectives; class actions in the CAT and the latest on design rights. The CLA have also run a series of free webinars, which cover the interpretation and application of competition law and intellectual property law in the UK and other jurisdictions.

The LIDC holds an international annual conference at which a variety of topics of current interest are discussed. Membership of the Association is composed principally of barristers, solicitors, patent and trade mark agents, and is open to all those interested in its objectives, whether in industry, private practice or academic life. For full details please see “membership” section of the website.
